FAQ & Reviews
How Often Should I Come For Treatment?
Some acute conditions respond well to daily treatment, especially necessary when in severe pain. Chronic issues respond better to treatments when spaced out at 2 or 3 times per week, this tapers down to once per week then once every other week as the condition begins to improve.
How Long Before I Start To Notice Improvement?
Some patients feel some reduction in pain after their first treatment, usually over the next 12 hours. Sometimes no improvement will be felt for a few sessions, however, this doesn’t mean the condition is not improving. Treatments are cumulative and results are often noticed after 3 or 4 sessions.
How Many Treatment Sessions Will I Need?
It really depends on the condition and length of time it has been a problem. For an acute condition, 4 to 6 sessions may be enough. Conditions that have a more chronic nature may need 6 to 12 sessions and sometimes more. More severe conditions may stabilise in this time but are likely to require an element of ongoing care to keep the pain under control.
I Have Scans (X-Rays or MRI) Should I Bring Them?
Yes. This can be extremely helpful to better understand the issue. If there is any uncertainty around previous findings or what the reports or scans mean, the practitioner will be more than happy to help you gain a better understanding as well.
Will My Insurance Cover Treatment?
Most patients self-fund treatment, however, some patients which do have insurance are able to claim various amounts of the treatment cost back (depending on premiums and a number of other unique personal circumstances). It is always best to speak to the insurance company to make them aware you are seeking treatment.
Does Treatment Hurt & What Does it Feel Like?
The treatments we have are all designed to be as safe & effective as possible. Laser will give a “warm, soothing feeling” whilst treatment is being done. Spinal Decompression gently stretches the spine, again a treatment that patients describe as pleasant when compared with other more aggressive treatments. Spinal Impulse Adjusting is a more direct treatment that can sometimes be quite powerful, however the treatment strength is always aligned to the patients tolerance.
Are There Any Side Effects?
Therapeutic Laser has been used by healthcare providers across the globe for over 20 years. There have been very few side effects ever reported. Occasionally older injuries or syndromes may become aggravated for a couple of days as the healing response becomes more active post treatment. Spinal decompression when done correctly is also extremely safe as is the Spinal Impulse Adjusting, however these two can sometimes give a little post treatment soreness which usually clears quickly to make way for relief.
How Long Does Each Treatment Take?
Typically an individual treatment can last between 4 and 15 minutes however it may be necessary to combine therapies, in which cases please allow a little more time. (there is no extra cost for these)
Has Effectiveness Been Scientifically Demonstrated?
There are thousands of studies that have been published on the clinical effectiveness of Therapeutic Laser. Many more on Spinal Decompression, and Our Spinal Impulse Adjusting instrument has been the subject of much research since the early 2000’s.
Individually these treatments have significant volumes of research. We have found, that by combining these therapies in an informed way, we can achieve even greater results.
