F.A.Q.s

Here are a few more of the most common questions and answers to them. If you still have questions, the best way to get answers is to get in touch with our friendly team.

How often should I come for treatment?

Some acute conditions respond well to a few treatments in close succession, especially necessary when in severe pain. Chronic issues respond better to treatments when spaced out at 2 times per week, this tapers down to once per week then, once every other week as the condition continues to improve.

This is very unique to your case and will be discussed as relevant during your appointment.

How long before I start to notice improvement?

Some patients feel some reduction in pain after their first treatment, usually over the next 12 hours.  Sometimes no improvement will be felt for a few sessions, however, this doesn’t mean the condition is not improving.  Treatments are cumulative and lasting results are often noticed after 3 or 4 sessions.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

It really depends on the condition and length of time it has been a problem.  For an acute condition, 4 to 6 sessions may be enough.

Conditions that have a more chronic nature may need 6 to 12 sessions and sometimes more.  More severe conditions may stabilise in this time but are likely to require an element of ongoing care to keep the pain under control.

Will my insurance cover my treatment?

Most patients self-fund treatment, however, some patients which do have insurance are able to claim various amounts of the treatment cost back (depending on premiums and a number of other unique personal circumstances).

It is always best to speak to the insurance company to make them aware you are seeking treatment.

I have previous scans (X-Ray or MRI) should I bring them?

Yes.  This can be extremely helpful to better understand the issue. If there is any uncertainty around previous findings or what the reports or scans mean, the practitioner will be more than happy to help you gain a better understanding as well.
